Merav Leibkuechler

About

After completing her contemporary Dance studies at Matte Asher School – Kibbutz Gaaton, Israel -for Performing arts, 2011 she moved to Berlin. In 2012 she started her studies at the University of Arts (Universität der Künste) Berlin in the department of Fine arts. She focused on painting and Installation, in the class of Professor Thomas Zipp and completed her studies with the Meisterschüler degree in 2019. During her Studies she participated in the exchange program at the Faculdade de Belas Artes , Universidade de Lisboa, in Lisbon, Portugal. Her works have been featured in Solo and Group exhibitions, amongst others at Volksbühne Berlin 2019, 2018 at Galeria ARTA GRACA in Lisbon, 2017 at Villa Grisebach in Berlin, 2016 the MuseumFLUXUS in Potsdam, 2014 at OBEN, CfZ in Vienne and at Palazzo Zenobio in Venice. In 2019 she received the Recognition Award for the Helmut- Thoma foundation at the University of Arts (Universität der Künste) Berlin. She was nominated for several prizes as, 2019 the Heise Art award for painting, 2016 the Ed-Dietzsch art Award for Painting and the BLOOOM Award. 2014 she received a scholarship for the International Summer Academy in Venice, Italy.
