Author: Liu Ruowang
“Wolfes Coming” is an old, tragic parable about a shepherd boy telling lies about wolfs attacking to get adults`help. Long story short, in the end, nobody believes him anymore while the wolfs show up. The original installation consists of 110 wolfs meticulously formed and sculpted. Each looks different from the other and measuring more than two meters in length. The ensemble of fierce-looking and fangs exposing creatures surrounds a single person of three meters hight, which is winging a sword for his protection. If you have ever witnessed Liu Ruowang’s impressive masterpiece on an exhibition, maybe in front of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, you will feel the urgent need to take one wolf home.
