Untitled (2014)

6650 €
Author: Merav Leibkuechler
In this series, Merav explored the connection between organic shapes, artificial forms, as well as materials while using abstract styles. She chose curved lines and forms that associate with organic matter. While combining them unknown, unnatural structures originated. “I was inspired by the aggregate states of matter in nature, which are solid, liquid, and gas, and used them as a connecting point to both organic and artificial materials. I aimed to create an atmosphere of temporal silence, a quiet moment before the “storm,” using mostly a bright spectrum of colors.”

Merav, born in Israel, completed her contemporary dance studies at the Matte Asher School for Performing Arts. She currently lives and practices in Berlin, and graduated from the Universität der Künste in 2019 with a Masters degree in arts and the ‘Recognition Award’ for the Helmut-Thoma Foundation. Merav has been nominated for many artistic awards for her work, which has been featured in exhibitions around Europe.
