Big Tree with thick, green foliage next to an ancient ruin wall

Shantia Zaker Ameli - Big Tree (2014)

2500 €
Author: Shantia Zaker Ameli
The painting depicts one of the ancient trees in Iran that have more than one thousand years of age. Those old trees were planted by wise people a long time ago to address to the world the image of magic wisdom. These trees are sacred in Persian culture. Shantia interprets them as the icon of knowledge in this magical cosmology. After centuries of movement, wars, and constant change, this tree is still alive. It is a symbol of movement in this existential world, in which our technology tries to capture, and detach it from its living, vibrant force.
